Knitting Technique?

Do you have a Knitting Technique?

Something special that allows you to be more sure of Knitting Happiness? or Knitting Success?

The first thing that comes to my mind is the yarn. – The right type of yarn for the project.

The right type of yarn for the project includes quality of the yarn. Fiber content and construction of the yarn.

I am a yarn snob. I prefer natural fibers. I also prefer smaller yarn weight and smaller needles.

Smaller needles with a sport or DK weight yarn. I am not sure that really is a knitting Technique………..

Having the a good pattern to follow is important, too. But that is not really a knitting Technique either……..

Could Knitting Tention be a technique? If you are a “tight” knitter lace and cables are not easily maneuvered.

So what is Technique?

technique |tekˈnēk|noun. a way of carrying out a particular task, esp. the execution or performance of an artistic work or a scientific procedure.• skill or ability in a particular field : he has excellent technique | [in sing. ] an established athlete with a very good technique.• a skillful or efficient way of doing or achieving something : tape recording is a good technique for evaluating our own communications.

So maybe what Knitting Technique all boils down to is how you carry out your knitting task. You must become skillful and efficient in achieving your own Knitting Happiness.

Knitting Happiness is different for every knitter. The level of skill required for Knitting Happiness is different for every knitter, too.

It all gets confusing, yes? After all it is just knitting…….

But, is it just knitting for you?

Happy Knitting your Technique,

Nancy
